Miami Airport Reflection

Our team heading to El Salvador, which includes me, J.J. Faltot (North Way's student ministry director), and Nathan and Kelsey Miller, has been sitting in the Miami airport all day waiting a long time for our flight to San Salvador since our original flight was canceled. We'll take turns updating the blog of our adventures. While we were waiting in the airport, Nathan Miller wrote this reflection ahead of our time in El Salvador:

Up early and out the door

The day has finally arrived

The Lord has continued to open doors

That seemed locked just hours before

Everything is falling into place

But...

Hard right turn

Into a time of waiting

A time to trust the process

In the waiting we give up control

In the waiting the Spirit is renewing our strength

In the waiting our character is refined in the fire

In the waiting space is made for unexpected conversation

In the waiting their is tension

How long can the heart of man wait

How long can we give up control

Oh to find peace in the waiting

To sit in the solitude of unexpected space to think

To see the waiting as a gift

As a gift of opportunity

Opportunity to let Your light shine a little brighter

To push back the darkness of the waiting

To love a little harder

What if the waiting is really the destination

The destination where true heart transformation happens?
